Impact Resistant Windows & Doors utilize Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is two (or three) pieces of glass with a plastic film sandwiched between them. Something like double-sided tape between them.If broken, glass fragments tend to adhere to the interlayer, reducing the potential for serious injuries. Laminated Glass is a Safety Glazing Product that complies with the same safety specifications as tempered glass, but when something hits the glass it doesn’t break into a million pieces like tempered glass and doesn’t have shards of glass falling like annealed (that means “regular”) glass.

Impact Resistant Windows & Doors:
The only proven protection system that passes Miami-Dade County Hurricane Protection Standard that involves no preparation! Impact Resistant Windows & Doors provide the convenience of always being prepared for a storm, as well as ongoing protection, no storage space and installation needed, provide security against forced entry and burglary, screen out solar rays, and help dampen the transmission of unwanted noises.

Manufactured Laminated Glass Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) .030”, .060”, or .090” clear interlayer autoclaved between annealed, heat strengthened, or tempered glass, up to 9/16” total thickness.
